Don’t you just love vintage furniture? This concept pic just jumped out at me. I love it. When it comes to vintage looks, you could try a unique leather corner sofa, or vintage style bar stools for the kitchen. One thing that a lot of people love doing is refinishing an old table by stripping old paint and then adding custom varnish to match their kitchen. This is a great way to get a new table for your home without spending too much money.

Nothing like a cozy reading lamp or a unique chandelier to help create the right lighting effect in your room. Good decorators always know that good lighting design is one of the biggest factors in the look and feel of any room. Cool garden lights or calming patio lighting can really bring your backyard to life.

Vintage console tables, TV stands, coffee tables or writing desks can be used to add a slightly vintage feel to a room without overpowering the space with an entire sofa set or main table. Playing around with smaller furniture pieces will provide you with flexibility in your overall design.

In a breezy backyard, windchimes are a hit. But if the air is still most of the time where you live, why not go for some colorful, sun catching windchimes – you can enjoy these ones whether it’s a windy day, or not. You could even take it a step further by adding stained glass window film to your porch windows. You’ll be all set for an entire summer of backyard parties.

When it comes to home fashions, there are many things that make great decor accents. Wall Clocks are one of them. A cool clock can take a room from boring to unique – in seconds.
A few other ways to set your home decorating apart from the other houses on your block include custom window treatments, unique interior shutters, or interesting and dramatic area rugs. The key is to pick a few stand out pieces and to make sure everything else compliments the main statement of the room.

As the weather cools, I get so sad to see fewer and fewer birds in my little backyard bird bath. Wanna know a secret? Getting a heated bird bath will give the birds a more comfy place to hang out, bringing you more hours of bird watching. While you’re at it, you can add some tasteful backyard fountains and create an amazing backyard oasis.

If you have nice carpet in your home, you’ll want to make sure you get a regular carpet shampoo to make your investment last as long as possible. Also, keep in mind that area rugs can give you a more versatile way to add color or texture to your room if you don’t want to do an entire wall to wall carpet look. A separate rug will cost less and can be switched out if you decide to change your color scheme from time to time.

I mean, honestly, what could be better than an orange or blue toaster? Nothing really. Which leaves us to answer just one question: Which color?

Travertine or stone tiles can be an ideal material for entry way flooring. Some designers also love roman blinds or other dramtic window treatments. It’s also ideal to install some type of wall mounted coat rack in an entry way area. If you want a do-it-yourself option, try ready made curtains or temporary window shades until you can afford what you really want.

Vibrant couch covers, decorative home pillows, throw pillows, and floor pillows are great items that can add some bright splashes of color to your decor. They also allow for versatility if you change your mind, or if you want to incorporate different colors throughout the seasons.
